Dove / Galaxy

I enjoyed working with Elmwood on the initial rebrand work for 'Galaxy' chocolate, also known as 'Dove' in Canada, the USA and Mexico.

Below are two versions of the same logo intro sequence, one with a write-on effect for 'Galaxy' and the other for 'Dove'. The graphical element is called the ‘CFD’ or ‘Chocolate Flow Device’, which was designed to act as a recognisable and iconic shape to associate with 'Dove/Galaxy' chocolate, similar to how the Nike 'Tick' logo speaks for that brand:

The texture in the CFD is part of the style used for the Dove/Galaxy 'Purpose' campaign, to pay tribute to the local growers of the cocoa used in the chocolate. There is a focus on the women involved in its production in places like Ghana and the Ivory Coast. This video by Dove/Galaxy wasn't edited by me, but it does feature some of the animations I'd made for Elmwood:

The ‘Making Chocolate Better’ tagline, along with speeded up versions of the 'Purpose' logo animations can be seen here; the CFD has a more exaggerated liquid motion:

The 'Purpose' logos ('FLOURISH', 'GROW', 'SOURCE' and 'THRIVE') without the CFD at their normal speed, can be seen here:

'Purpose' logos again here with the CFD element:

And this is how the logos looked on their limited edition packs:

The animation below is a continuation of the 'Purpose’ campaign, with the slogan ‘"Your Pleasure has Power", aimed at empowering the women of Ghana involved in cocoa production. It has a brush stroke style to the elements, and used with a lower frame rate to mimic a hand drawn feel:

The "Your Pleasure has Power" slogan can be seen again here, in this quick animation that transitions to the ladies full screen, and then uses the CFD as a framing device:

Further "Your Pleasure has Power" animations were created. This time incorporating 2D stylised drawings of female characters at the end:

Other slogans were also used, namely "Your Pleasure has Promise" and "Doing Good Tastes Great", and a Chinese characters version of "Your Pleasure has Promise" can be seen here too:

Square format animations for the letters 'D' and 'G', plus the water colour paintbrush effect behind the caramel chocolate piece and 'Cookie Crumble' pack, were also created:
